Brighton and Hove Food Partnership weekly dementia friendly gardening sessions provide a gentle, regular activity with a friendly group and a chance to build confidence. There is lots of national evidence about the benefits of gardening for people with dementia.

Participants and carers can contact us directly to book, or be referred through professionals. The sessions are suitable for those with mild to moderate dementia and carers are welcome to attend as well.

When: Weekly Tuesday sessions, 10:30am-12pm, from 24th July to 9th October 2018.

Where: The Emmaus Centre, Drove Road, Portslade, Brighton, BN41 2PA. We work in the garden and polytunnel space behind the main Emmaus shop, which ensures we have a covered space to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. There are toilet and hand washing facilities on site.

Hove Carer's Peer Support Group

3 Oct 2018 , 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Our group provides a friendly and supportive environment to talk to other carers about how dementia affects your life.

You can discuss issues you might be facing with others who understand, as much as possible, what you’re going through. You can also share practical information and advice about what has helped you.

Our Alzheimer’s Society staff and trained volunteers run the group to help you get the most out of the sessions, and are on hand to offer you information and advice.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Brighton Alzheimer’s Society office with any queries about the support group
